About Davey's Bay ?

This is a weather site, not a history book, but for the curious the 1995/97 Frankston City Heritage Study has a few notes on James Davey who took a pastoral lease here in 1846. He built the jetty which later became the home base for Davey's Bay Yacht Club.

News flashes ...(latest first)


31st Dec 2011 :- Replaced anemometer and wind vane.  Readings between 13:30 and 15:30 are invalid.

9th Dec 2011 :- Anemometer shattered by large hail at 16:00, repaired but accuracy now suspect.  To be replaced ...

19th Nov 2011 :- Rain gauge blocked.  Accumulated rainfall between 00:00 and 13:50 delayed until 13:50.  Quantity for day is correct, timing is not

4th Apr 2011 :-  Another power failure ... don't trust the data between 4am and 9am local time

7th Feb 2011 :-  Another power failure ... no data captured between 3:00 and 5:00 local time

16th Jan 2011 :-  Modified the solar sensor to use a different diffuser, the calibration may have changed.

 8th Jan 2011 :-  Oops... the rain gauge broke on Jan 8th.  It was impeded by a spider's web! It may have been under-reading for some time.

"Today" is defined as midnight to midnight local time at Davey's Bay
Graphs show data at 2 minute intervals except rain (which shows hourly total)
